ULTIMATE KITESURF & WATERSPORTS HOLIDAY IN STILBAAI ...

Greeting to all fellow kiters and watersports enthusiasts

I hope this email finds you still enjoying onshore winds at more than 20knots ?!? :) If we have appeared to fall off the face of the earth, well I almost have ...

My quietness has had motive ... and here we are :)

My Wife and I have been rather busy over the past few years (for those wandering ... yes I am now Married ... and no ... no kids yet) in getting a Water-sports and Lifestyle Center set up here in Stilbaai in the Western Cape, South Africa. I visited Stilbaai in the December of 2009 and immediately saw the potential of setting up a Kite-school and water-sports center, as the wind conditions and location are perfect !!! 1 year and 6 months later we left the cold crowded waters of Blouberg and busy Langebaan behind, and  ventured into building out very own Lifestyle house for accommodation (www.thelifestylehouse.co.za) and Kitesurfing & watersports center (www.kitescience.com) here in the heart of Stilbaai.
Our Guest House "The Lifestyle House" developed its name from the Lifestyle that we promote. We have to face the fact, that without the Lifestyle we as South African's have ... we just wouldn't be African !!! Our vision is to offer the true South African experience- Adventure, Food and Cuisine, Wildlife Safari's, Watersports and introduce local and international visitors to a rich blend of culture in one of the most beautiful and tranquil villages on the Garden Route.
The Lifestyle House boasts 3 generously well fitted apartments, and is the home to Kitescience kite-surfing and water-sports center. We are based just 150meters from the Gou Kou River, which is ideal for kayaking, Stand Up Paddeling, Skiing, Wake-boarding and much more. Not forgetting the extremely safe teaching conditions for both beginner and advanced Kite-surfing Lessons which takes place in the warm waters in the mouth of where the river meets the sea. The wind blows in a South Easterly direction from the months of October till April, gives months of training in waves and flat water for the professional and for the water-sports athlete wishing to perfect their kite-surfing skills.

So why not wake up to a True South African Sunrise, have the option of Deep-sea fishing or paddle out on still waters for a surf or Stand Up paddle session, then breakfast between 8 & 9am just before the wind picks up for a days kite-surfing !!! Like clock-work the wind switches off between 6:30 and 7pm allowing comfortable evenings to take a sun-downer boat cruise up-river, then finishing off with a fish or meat braai, South African Poitjiekos while enjoying socializing at The Lifestyle House. This all in a typical day here with us ...

So why not escape to Stilbaai ... allow us the privileged of showing you around ??

Kitescience news February 2011

Hi guys

Season has been super busy and has left very little time for an update. Not really an excuse, and apologies for the delay !!! With expansion to Stilbaai, and loads more energy pumped into the Langebaan and Table View schools, things have almost kept us out of trouble :) Stilbaai has really kicked off in style this season, and the demand for lessons and kit there has been unbelievable. Next season will be bigger and better ... so keep an eye open for the Kitescience / Liquid Force action up that way !!! Table View and Langebaan have continued to generate nice groups of beginner and advanced kitesurfing courses, and we have had some nice groups of German, Dutch, Italians and more ... this is not to mention the local South Africans who are super keen on perfecting the art in kiting. Well done to all the beginner groups ... and well done to the guys who are now busting new moves since taking part in our advanced courses.

For photos of lessons and the kitescience lifestyle, join our KITESCIENCE facebook group.

We have also been really busy updating our www.kitescience.com website. The site itself is growing and so is the traffic :) We have added a new kitesurfing spots map, Kitescience schools pages and the technical tips section (still under construction). Kitescience will be operating through the Winter, running both kitesurfing advanced courses, learn to kitesurf courses & packages ... and not leaving out our cable park / wake-boarding courses. This is NEW TO KITESCIENCE and ideal for perfect your boardwork skills !!! We are often heading up to the Blue Rock cable park in Somerset West, and have some good fun up there (see pic).

For info on joining in our Cable Park training program, contact Matt on +27 76 077 6346 or complete the booking and inquiry form at
http://www.kitescience.com/bookings.html

When we do have a gap ourselves, the Kitescience Team are still enjoying time on the water, planned down-winders, free-ride expression sessions and we have been caught busting a lip of two on our directionals. Kitescience has also been present at the Red Bull kicker photo-shoot. We also enjoyed a fruitful Liquid Force demo day in Langebaan which generated a good turn out ... all enjoyed testing the latest 2011 Liquid Force kites and boards. Look out for the next demo day that will be held in Table View ... will keep you posted and more details will be on the FB Kitescience group page.

Kitescience / Liquid Force also now have a mobile Test Centre, so keep an eye out for the van or give us a call to find out where we are at or heading too :) We are always up to some sort of kiting adventure, and weather you want to learn to kitesurf, experience the Kitescience lifestyle, book a demo on the latest Liquid Force kitesurfing equipment or join in on a cable-park experience, please feel free to contact us with any inquiries ...

Looking forward to hearing from you, and if not ... we hope to see you on the water :)

Kitescience & Flexifoil Capetown support the Andy Irons paddle out !!!

On Saturday the 6th November, Kitescience / Flexifoil Capetown joined the paddle in honor of Andy Irons age 32, a surfing legend and inspiration to many. Andy was one of surfing greatest competitors, having won the Association of surfing Professionals World champion three years in a row.

A good crowd gathered on the beach just before 12 in front of the Big Bay life saving club, and after making the paddle to behind the back-line- linked hands and formed a circle in memorial to one of the best pro surfers in history.

It was an honor to be part of something like this, and a big loss to the sport of surfing !!!

Kitescience Signage ...

Kitescience in the Netherlands

Hi guys

As of the beginning of June 2010, Kitscience advanced and beginner kitesurfing school will be in Holland (Zandvoord) and operating from the Safar Club. To book beginner or advanced lessons contact Matt on +31 62 257 8470 or email learntokitesurf@gmail.com. We are also on Twitter (kitescience) and Facebook (kitescience) pages ...

Kitescience is not an average kitesurfing school. We have spent many years specializing and perfecting a concept that is so much more than any average kitesurfing lesson. Specializing in both advanced kitesurfing and beginner kitesurfing courses, taking all dimensions and demands that the sport has on a person’s body into consideration- we have put together a program that looks after the physical, mental and technical aspects of the sport.

The Kitescience Team has been really busy in preperation of the coming season, and there are already people on the water although the water temperature being 9-10degrees. But already we are taking lesson bookings, and for those of you that are not sure what we are about- feel free to take a look through the website www.kitescience.com
The website is still under construction, and there will be a lot more updated over the next few weeks, but let us know what you think so far :)

We will be posting pictures of our signage construction shortly, so watch this space !!!
